  • 2+ years of experience in the field.
  • Valid Class A CDL with Tanker Endorsement or must attain within 12 months of employment.
  • Three Medium/Heavy Duty Truck ASE Certifications, or an Associate’s Degree/Certificate in a related field, or Military MOS in related maintenance fields.

Responsibilities

  • Communicates and demonstrates safe working practices.
  • Analyses faults or malfunctions using engine diagnostic equipment.
  • Performs maintenance and repairs on vehicles and equipment.
  • Understands operating manuals, blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Inspects parts for damage or wear using micrometers and gauges.
  • Orders parts online and ensures proper charging in FA system.
  • Interacts with vendors to test products and services.
  • Communicates with customers on vehicle and equipment status.
  • Meets attendance and storm duty requirements.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Position Specific Description

Our Fleet Services Department Is Looking For a Diesel Technician To Join Their Team In Pompano Beach, FL. To Qualify For The Position, You Must Possess

  • At least three (3) Medium Duty/Heavy Duty Truck ASE Certifications of which one is for T4 Brakes OR an Associate Degree/Certificate of completion from an accredited university within a related field (e.g., Automotive Technology, Diesel Technology, etc.) OR Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) within a related field (e.g. Automotive/Truck/Equipment maintenance, Diesel engines, Hydraulics, etc.)

Job Overview

Employees in this role provide safe and reliable vehicles and equipment to all customer segments while maintaining a technical focus for solutions to complex problems including but not limited to electrical, mechanical, fluid powering or hybrid applications. At times this position will assist in monitoring and assessing performance of other technicians and groups to make improvements or take corrective actions. Employees in this job follow processes and procedures to achieve desired results while utilizing interdependence/collaboration with work group to ensure maximum potentials.

  • Communicates and demonstrates safe working practices
  • Analyzes faults or malfunctions to determine required repairs using engine diagnostic equipment such as computerized test equipment and calibration devices
  • Performs maintenance and repairs to vehicles and equipment
  • Understands operating manuals, blueprints and technical drawings
  • Examines parts for damage or excessive wear using micrometers and gauges
  • Orders general use parts through the internet and ensures all parts are correctly charged out in FA system
  • Communicates indirectly with vendors to test products and technical services
  • Communicates with customers on vehicle and equipment status
  • Ability to meet attendance and storm duty requirements
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
