Job summary

Tessera is seeking an experienced Automotive Technician in Washington, D.C. to perform a range of mechanical services on light, medium, and heavy vehicles and equipment. This is a full-time, non-exempt role with a day shift, Monday to Friday.

Compensation is $30.18/hr with a $2,500 sign-on bonus. Benefits and extensive training opportunities are included, along with security clearances as required for access to federal installations.

Qualifications

• CDL B with Passenger Endorsement is required or obtainable within 6 months.
• Ability to read, interpret, and follow technical manuals and schematics.
• Strong mechanical aptitude for diagnostics and repair of multiple vehicle classes.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs per manuals.
• Service transportation equipment, forklifts, generators, and other vehicles.
• Inspect and repair brakes, suspension, wheels, hubs, steering systems.
• Maintain records of work performed and materials used.
• Assist master mechanic on major repairs and disassembly/reassembly of parts.
