Job summary

Tessera is seeking an experienced Automotive Technician to work in Washington, DC (Naval Research Laboratory) on a full-time, day shift role. You will perform PMs and repairs on various vehicles and equipment, reading manuals and schematics.

CDL B with Passenger Endorsement is required or to be obtained within 6 months, ASE certification preferred, and a toolbox is expected. The role includes a competitive hourly wage, a $2,500 sign-on bonus, and robust benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in light, medium, and heavy trucks preferred.
• ASE certification preferred.
• CDL B with Passenger Endorsement required or to be obtained within 6 months of hire.
• Must provide a general mechanic’s toolbox.
• Must read and follow technical manuals, lube orders, wiring and hydraulic schematics for diagnostics and repair.
• Knowledge of hazardous material regulations and right-to-know information sheets.
• Good judgment, flexibility, and problem solving in changing situations.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and repair services per manuals.
• Service and fuel transportation equipment, forklifts, generators, and other vehicles.
• Inspect and repair brakes, suspension, wheels, hubs, steering systems.
• Maintain work records and service workbooks.
• Assist master mechanic on major repairs and component disassembly/reassembly.
• Assist with loading/unloading and inventorying parts.
