DARCARS Honda of Tenafly in Tenafly, NJ is hiring Automotive Technicians/Mechanics. Earn $28–$42 per hour based on experience. The role involves general repairs, diagnostics, and maintenance across engines, electrical, HVAC, steering, and more.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of automotive technician experience required.
• Must have basic tools.
• Must be proficient in all vehicle maintenance services.

• Minimum age 18 and valid driver's license; pass background check.

Responsibilities

• Document all work performed and recommendations on the repair order.
• Make accurate use of the multi-point inspection form.
• Communicate with service advisor when additional work is needed or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time.
• Maintain technician proficiency as per DARCARS standards.
• Conduct road tests to verify work and ensure repairs are completed.
• Perform all levels of diagnosis and repair on vehicles.
• Perform all levels of preventive/routine maintenance services.
• Utilize training and manufacturer guidance as assigned.
• Participate in manufacturer-sponsored training to stay updated with new tech.
• Maintain CSI scores at or above company goals.
• Complete warranty work documentation and claims.
• Report safety or safety-related issues to management.
• Ensure vehicles are returned clean.

DARCARS Honda of Tenaflyis now hiring Automotive Technicians / Mechanics!
Potential Earning Based on Experience of $28 - $42 an hour

As an Automotive Technician / Mechanic you have the responsibility of understanding and completing routine repairs necessary for the repair of customer vehicles. You will perform general repairs and diagnosis with some assistance. These repairs include but are not limited to light engine work, transmissions, clutches, drive shafts, electrical systems (starters and alternators), HVAC systems, steering & suspension systems.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• 3+ years of previous automotive technician experience required


• Certified in factory training is a plus!


• ASE and A/C certifications are a plus!


• CSI and Quality scores above regional average**


• Must have basic tools


• Must be proficient in all vehicle maintenance services


• Must be a team player and have the ability to work repetitively on complex tasks


• Must be a minimum of eighteen years of age


• Must have a valid driver’s license and safe driving record


• Must be able to pass pre-employment screening (background)

In this role, you will:

• Document all work performed and recommended on assigned repair order

• Maintain manufacturer (CSI) Customer Satisfaction Index at or above the DARCARS specified goal(s) in service for district, regional and national scores


• Complete the work, notations and time-keeping necessary to the successful completion of warranty repair orders and the filing of warranty claims


• Report to management any situation or condition that would jeopardize the safety, welfare, or integrity of the dealership, its customers or employees


• Take care to ensure that customer’s vehicles are returned to them as clean as they were prior to being serviced


• Understand and complete required training for compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc


• Comply with all federal, state and local laws, as well as company policy, regarding safeguarding all customer vehicles, property and information


• Other duties maybe assigned by management
