Automotive Technician / Mechanic

Potential Earnings: $30 – $50 per hour + seniority bonus.
Responsibilities
- Perform general repairs and diagnosis of customer vehicles including light engine work, transmissions, clutches, drive shafts, electrical systems (starters, alternators), HVAC, steering and suspension systems.
- Document all work performed and recommended on the assigned repair order.
- Use the multi‑point inspection form accurately on each vehicle.
- Communicate with the service advisor when additional work is needed or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time.
- Maintain technician proficiency as specified by DARCARS standards.
- Conduct road tests to confirm work was successfully completed when necessary and practical.
- Perform all levels of diagnosis and repair on vehicles.
- Perform all levels of preventive/routine maintenance services.
- Utilize product and technical training as assigned by manufacturers and management.
- Participate in manufacturer‑sponsored training programs and schools to expand knowledge of new technology.
- Maintain customer satisfaction index at or above DARCARS specified goals in service for district, regional, and national scores.
- Complete warranty repair orders and file warranty claims accurately.
- Report any situation that jeopardizes safety, welfare, or integrity of the dealership, its customers or employees.
- Return vehicles clean and as they were prior to service.
- Understand and complete required training for compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right‑to‑Know, etc.).
- Comply with all laws, regulations, and company policy regarding safeguarding customer vehicles and information.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications & Requirements
- 3+ years of automotive technician experience
- Certified in factory training (plus)
- A.S.E. and A/C certifications (plus)
- CSI and quality scores above regional average
- Must have basic tools
- Proficient in all vehicle maintenance services
- Team player and ability to work repetitively on complex tasks
- Minimum 18 years of age
- Valid driver’s license and safe driving record
- Pass pre‑employment screening (background check)
- 4‑day work week available; closed Sundays
