Vehicle Technician

What you will be doing:

As an Automotive Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining vehicles to ensure optimal performance and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities:
  1. Diagnose and repair vehicles from bumper to bumper.
  2. Inspect and repair electrical and electronic systems.
  3. Replace or repair transmissions and fuel components as needed.
  4. Repair cooling components and systems, including air conditioners and engine cooling.
  5. Perform emissions inspections, safety checks, and state-regulated vehicle examinations.
  6. Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  7. Produce accurate and legible paperwork reflecting work performed.
  8. Conduct test drives to ensure proper vehicle operation.
  9. Perform vehicle software updates.
  10. Identify quality issues and work with cross-functional teams to root cause quality problems.
  11. Assist in Quality Engineering investigations, teardowns, and vehicle warranty repairs.
  12. Perform vehicle maintenance where applicable.
  13. Support Engineering with special studies and projects.
  14. Perform vehicle quality and reliability audits, documenting issues.
  15. Follow all procedures as directed by Management.
  16. Communicate status updates on vehicle repairs.
  17. Collaborate with technicians and service advisors for efficient workflow.
  18. Stay updated on automotive technologies and repair techniques.
  19. Operate diagnostic tools and equipment to identify vehicle issues.
What you will need to be successful:

Essential:

  • At least 5 years of automotive repair experience.
  • 3 years of experience in a dealership environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of automotive systems and repair techniques.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Certification from a recognized automotive training program (e.g., ASE certification).
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve complex mechanical issues.
  • Excellent communication skills for customer interactions.
  • Attention to detail to ensure quality repairs.
  • Effective time management skills.
