Job description

Kia Retailers are offering skilled and experienced military Veterans the opportunity to begin a career as a Kia Certified Service Technician. To support this initiative, Kia America, Inc. has established the Kia Veterans Technician Apprenticeship Program (VTAP).

Job Description

1. Diagnose, maintain, and repair Kia vehicles, including engine, transmission, steering, suspension, brakes, HVAC, and electrical components.
2. Complete repair orders and warranty request orders following Kia and Retailer policies and procedures.
3. Test drive vehicles, analyze, diagnose, and repair components and systems using Kia diagnostic strategies, special equipment, and tools.
4. Perform services, diagnostics, and repairs promptly while communicating with the shop foreman and service advisor to ensure an optimal customer experience.

All employment opportunities advertised are with independently owned and operated Kia Retailers. Applicants are applying for full-time employment with a participating Kia Retailer, not with KUS or ERS. Employment is subject to applicable laws and regulations, specific to each Kia Retailer’s location.

KUS and ERS do not guarantee employment through the VTAP program. Employment decisions are at the discretion of each Kia Retailer and depend on meeting eligibility, skill, and experience requirements.

Requirements

• Honorable Discharge
• Valid Driver’s License from any state with a clean driving record
• Experience in a technical/mechanical field
• Willingness to complete and pass drug screening and background checks
