Job summary

Cotulla Education is seeking an Automotive Technology Instructor to deliver hands-on training at our Norfolk campus. You will teach in classroom and lab settings, maintain safety, and monitor student progress while keeping accurate records.

We welcome candidates with at least 3 years in the automotive field; no prior teaching experience is required, as we offer a 5-day paid instructor training program to help you transition into the classroom. Evening and day classes available.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum three (3) years of practical automotive industry experience.
• ASE Certification equal to the level of classes taught (preferred).
• Strong communication, organizational, and recordkeeping skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and teach both day and evening classes.

Responsibilities

• Deliver automotive technology instruction in classroom and lab settings.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and productive learning environment.
• Monitor student attendance, academic progress, and performance; maintain accurate records and submit required reports.
• Support curriculum development, course preparation, equipment maintenance, and student retention initiatives.
• Communicate student concerns, attendance issues, and other matters requiring attention to the Program Coordinator.
• Participate in required training, professional development, and instructor development activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned by school leadership.

Compensation: up to $35/hour + $2500 Sign on Bonus

Schedule: Monday - Thursday(Friday, Saturday, and Sunday OFF!)

• 4:00 PM - 10:30 PM OR12:00 PM - 10:30 PM

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Knowledge of automotive systems, diagnostics, repair procedures, and industry safety standards.
• Strong communication, organizational, and recordkeeping skills.
• Proficiency with computers and instructional technology.
• Professional demeanor with strong attention to detail and commitment to student success.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, work under pressure, and teach both day and evening classes.
• Commitment to completing at least 20 hours of annual technical update training.
• No prior teaching experience required. We provide a 5-day paid instructor training program to help you successfully transition into the classroom.
