Job summary

Pep Boys Inc. is seeking an Automotive Technician to professionally inspect, diagnose, and repair tire and automotive services while delivering an excellent customer experience.

You will explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to customers and teammates, and continuously learn newer automotive technologies to stay current. You will mentor co-workers, maintain a neat, safe shop, and adhere to all company policies while supporting shop operations and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of automotive mechanical diagnosis, problem-solving and repair experience.
• 2+ ASE certifications preferred (A4 Steering and Suspension & A5 Brakes).
• Section 609 certification preferred.
• State Inspection license if applicable.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Pre-employment background check.
• Willingness to work days, nights, holidays, and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair to specifications — brake and hydraulic, exhaust, basic electrical, cooling system, suspension and alignment, and maintenances.
• Explain technical diagnoses and repairs to customers and co-workers.
• Mentor and train fellow technicians; maintain a clean, safe shop.
• Continuously learn new automotive techniques and stay updated with technology.
• Assist other technicians in technical activities as needed.
• Keep management informed of repair issues as they arise.
