Job summary

Easterns Automotive Group is seeking an experienced Automotive EV Technician to join our Sterling, VA service team, focusing on electric vehicles and advanced technology diagnostics. The role emphasizes diagnosing, repairing, and inspecting EVs, Teslas, hybrids, and traditional vehicles within a high-volume shop.

You will work with EV charging, high-voltage systems, ADAS, and modern vehicle electronics while maintaining top workmanship standards and safety practices in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with EVs, hybrids, Tesla vehicles, or advanced automotive electrical systems.
• Ability to safely repair high-voltage vehicles.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair Tesla, EV, hybrid, and traditional gasoline-powered vehicles.
• Troubleshoot electrical, electronic, charging, communication, and drivability concerns.
• Perform mechanical and electrical repairs.
• Use scan tools, diagnostic software, service information, and testing equipment to identify concerns.
• Perform used-vehicle inspections and identify required repairs.
• Document diagnoses, repairs, and recommendations clearly.
• Stay current as EV systems and vehicle software evolve.
• Collaborate with service, inventory, and operations teams.

What You'll Do

As an Automotive EV Technician at Easterns, you'll diagnose, service, repair, and inspect a wide variety of vehicles, with an emphasis on electric and advanced-technology vehicles.

Responsibilities may include:

• Diagnose and repair Tesla, EV, hybrid, and traditional gasoline-powered vehicles
• Troubleshoot electrical, electronic, charging, communication, and drivability concerns
• Perform mechanical and electrical repairs
• Use scan tools, diagnostic software, service information, and testing equipment to accurately identify vehicle concerns
• Perform used-vehicle inspections and identify required mechanical or safety repairs
• Complete repairs efficiently while maintaining a high standard of workmanship
• Document diagnoses, repairs, and recommendations clearly
• Stay current as EV systems, vehicle software, and automotive technology continue to evolve
• Work collaboratively with our service, inventory, and operations teams

EV & Tesla Experience Gets Our Attention

We are especially interested in technicians with experience in one or more of the following areas:

• Tesla diagnosis and repair
• Battery electric vehicles (BEVs)
• Hybrid and plug-in hybrid vehicles
• High-voltage systems
• EV charging systems
• Advanced electrical diagnosis
• Vehicle networks and communication systems
• ADAS and modern vehicle electronics
• Manufacturer or EV-specific training

Tesla experience is especially valuable, but it is not required.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate has:

• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting ability
• Experience with EVs, hybrids, Tesla vehicles, or advanced automotive electrical systems
• Understanding of safe repair practices around high-voltage vehicles
• Ability to accurately diagnose a problem rather than simply replace parts
• Strong attention to detail
• Pride in quality workmanship
• Ability to work effectively in a high-volume automotive environment
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record

ASE certifications and manufacturer-specific certifications are a plus.

Compensation

$25.00-$45.00 per hour

Compensation within the range will be based on experience, technical ability, certifications, and EV/Tesla expertise.
