Job summary

CarMax is hiring a Mechanical Associate in West Point, VA. You will inspect, diagnose, repair, and recondition vehicles to meet our safety and quality standards, working with a collaborative team in a climate-controlled facility.

We provide ongoing training, access to advanced tools, and growth opportunities. The role requires hands-on experience with engines, brakes, steering, suspension, and HVAC, plus a valid driver's license and ASE certifications where required.

Qualifications

• Experience in engine repair, steering and suspension, brakes, and HVAC systems.
• Strong health and safety compliance.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and stand for long periods.
• Excellent communication and attention to detail.
• Valid driver's license and ASE certifications where required in multiple areas.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair vehicles to CarMax standards.
• Collaborate with a team to solve technical challenges.
• Gain hands-on experience across domestic and foreign vehicles.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow EH&S requirements.
