Job summary

CarMax is seeking a Mechanical Associate in West Point, Virginia, to inspect, diagnose, repair, and recondition vehicles to meet safety and quality standards. You’ll work with a skilled team in a climate-controlled facility, using advanced tools and ongoing training to grow technically.

This role emphasizes integrity and customer trust, handling engines, brakes, steering and suspension, and HVAC systems across domestic and foreign vehicles.

Qualifications

• Experience in engine repair, steering and suspension, brakes, and HVAC systems.
• Strong understanding of health and safety compliance.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and work on your feet for extended periods.
• Skilled at managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting.
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
• Valid driver's license.
• Maintain ASE Certifications as listed where required by state/local law.
