Job summary

Skalnek Ford is seeking a diligent Automotive Technician to join our team in Lake Orion, Michigan. We are growing our service department with a new state-of-the-art dealership facility that opened in May of 2026.

You will diagnose, repair, and maintain vehicles to ensure optimal performance and safety in a collaborative team environment. Responsibilities include vehicle diagnostics, repairs, thorough documentation, and clear communication with customers.

Qualifications

• Experience as Automotive Technician or similar preferred.
• ASE certification or relevant certification is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of automotive systems and technology to diagnose and repair vehicles.
• Attention to detail and precision in workmanship.
• Ability to lift and move heavy equipment and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Vehicle Diagnostics: Perform thorough inspections to identify issues and recommend repairs.
• Repair and Maintenance: Complete repairs, replacements, and maintenance tasks per manufacturer guidelines.
• Documentation: Accurately document services performed and parts used for each vehicle.
• Customer Interaction: Communicate effectively with customers regarding issues and service recommendations.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure work meets high-quality standards and customer expectations.
