Job summary

Skalnek Ford in Lake Orion, MI is seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Automotive Technician to join our growing service team. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain Ford Super Duty trucks and other heavy-duty vehicles to manufacturer standards.

We provide hands-on training, a supportive work environment, and opportunities to advance ASE certifications while delivering outstanding service and building long-term relationships with customers and colleagues.

Qualifications

• ASE certifications (T2-T8) preferred; Master Certification a plus.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a heavy-duty diesel technician.
• Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing Ford Super Duty trucks and other heavy-duty diesel vehicles.
• Strong understanding of diesel engine systems, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems.
• Ability to perform complex repairs and maintenance independently.
• Valid driver's license and a good driving record.
• Own set of standard and specialized tools for heavy-duty trucks.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive diagnostics on heavy-duty diesel engines, powertrains, and other vehicle systems.
• Execute repairs and maintenance on Ford Super Duty trucks and other heavy-duty vehicles according to manufacturer standards.
• Conduct routine preventative maintenance, including oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid checks.
• Utilize diagnostic equipment and technical manuals to troubleshoot and identify issues accurately.
• Maintain accurate service records and document all work performed.
• Communicate effectively with service advisors and customers regarding vehicle issues and repair recommendations.
• Adhere to all safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
