Job summary

CarMax is seeking an Automotive Technician in Houston, TX to diagnose, repair, and recondition vehicles in a clean, climate-controlled environment. You will handle engines, brakes, steering, and suspension with emphasis on safety, quality, and reliability.

Qualifications

• Basic to intermediate automotive repair experience.
• Proficiency with diagnosing and repairing engines, brakes, suspension, or HVAC systems.
• Knowledge of workplace safety protocols and compliance standards.
• Clear verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multitask in a high-volume environment.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair vehicles to CarMax standards.
• Perform services from basic maintenance to complex mechanical and electrical repairs.
• Complete multi-point inspections and document findings and work performed.
• Repair or replace vehicle components to support reconditioning efforts.
• Assist with alignment, suspension, and performance diagnostics as skills grow.
• Collaborate with teammates to meet production goals while upholding CarMax values.
