Job summary

Lexus of Birmingham, a Sonic Automotive family dealership, is seeking an Automotive Service Technician to perform vehicle repairs and maintenance per dealer and factory standards. You will oversee apprentices, communicate with parts, and document work while maintaining safety and quality.

Qualifications

• High CSI is required.
• ASE or manufacturing training is preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record is required.
• Must be able to pass pre-employment testing including background checks, MVR, and drug test.
• Ability to perform duties safely and responsibly.

Responsibilities

• Receive repair orders and perform vehicle repair and maintenance per dealer and factory standards.
• Diagnose malfunctions and perform repairs.
• Communicate with parts department to obtain needed parts.
• Supervise apprentices as assigned and attend factory training classes.
• Keep work areas neat and ensure proper handling of dealership-owned tools.
