Job summary

Manheim in Texas offers a paid, 12-week apprenticeship program designed to launch a career as an automotive technician. You’ll learn under a mentor, gain hands-on experience with maintenance tasks, and have the potential to transition to a full-time General Service Technician role with a $1,500 tool bonus.

Completion standards apply for consideration of future opportunities. Participation in the program is not a guaranteed continuation into a full-time role, and those who do not meet program

Qualifications

• 6+ months of related automotive experience.
• Safe drivers needed; valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Work with a mentor technician for coaching and guidance.
• Gain familiarity with auto maintenance concepts and practices.
• Perform basic auto maintenance duties, including oil and filter change, fuel filter change, transmission flush, and vehicle inspection.
• Learn to safely use tools and equipment.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
• Work as part of a team in a fast-paced shop.
• Perform other duties as assigned by mentor, supervisor, or manager.

What This Opportunity Is

This is a paid, 12-week apprenticeship program (the “Program”) designed to help you build the skills needed to start a career as an automotive technician.

If you meet the Manheim Apprentice Program objective completion standards, Manheim may offer you a full-time General Service Technician (GST) position with a $1,500 tool bonus and a defined career path. Participation in the Program is not a guarantee of continued or permanent employment.

If you do not meet the Manheim Apprentice Program completion standards by the end of the 12 weeks, you will be exited from the Program and will not be offered a full-time General Service Technician role.

What You’ll Do

You’ll get your hands dirty learning the ins and outs of the automotive technician field. With guidance, you’ll develop new skills to add to your growing toolbox.

Required:

• 6+ months of related automotive experience

Preferred:

• A high school diploma or GED
• The ability to drive standard, automatic, and electric vehicles
• Attended or currently attending tech/trade school or 2-year college in an automotive training program
