Job summary

Penske Vehicle Services in Auburn Hills, MI is seeking a skilled Automotive Technician. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain vehicles, perform retrofits, and apply software updates using approved diagnostic tools.

The ideal candidate has Level 3 Dealer Connect certification (Level 4 preferred), strong mechanical/electrical troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work independently or with a team. Safety and quality are emphasized daily.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 3 certification through Dealer Connect; Level 4 preferred.
• Experience with automotive diagnostics, repair, maintenance, and vehicle software updates.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturer-specific diagnostic/technical systems.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and with a technical team.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair vehicle concerns including BSR, NVH, dynamic issues.
• Replace and install components for retrofits.
• Perform vehicle software updates using manufacturer diagnostic equipment.
• Replace worn components like brakes and sensors as required.
• Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes and tire rotations.
• Document concerns, findings, and repairs in the MPK system.
• Use MPK, Dealer Connect, JTETSO, HPIMS, Wi-Tech, and CDA Micro Pods correctly.
• Communicate clearly with customers, auditors, and technicians.
