Job summary

Penske Vehicle Services in Auburn Hills, MI is seeking an Automotive Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain vehicle specifications. You will address issues identified by auditors, perform retrofits and software updates, replace worn components, and complete routine maintenance with a focus on quality and efficiency.

The candidate should have strong diagnostic abilities, be detail-oriented, and communicate effectively with customers and team members.

Qualifications

• Requires Level 3 certification with Dealer Connect; Level 4 preferred.
• Experience in automotive diagnostics, repair, maintenance, and software updates.
• Working knowledge of manufacturer-specific diagnostic systems.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting abilities.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and within a technical team.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair vehicle concerns including BSR, NVH, and performance issues.
• Replace and install components for vehicle retrofits.
• Perform vehicle software updates using approved diagnostic equipment.
• Repair worn components such as brakes, bearings, sensors, and related systems.
• Perform routine maintenance: oil changes, fluid checks, tire rotations.
• Document concerns, diagnostics, and repairs in MPK system.
• Communicate with customers, auditors, and technicians about work status.
• Maintain a safe, clean work environment following safety procedures.
