Job summary

Penske Vehicle Services in Auburn Hills, MI is hiring an Automotive Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain vehicles to spec. You will perform software updates, retrofits, component replacements, and routine maintenance while documenting work in MPK and related systems.

The ideal candidate has Level 3 certification (Level 4 preferred), strong diagnostic/multi-system skills, and the ability to work independently or with a team on a fast-paced line.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Level 3 certification and training through the Dealer Connect training system; Level 4 certification is preferred.
  • Experience with automotive diagnostics, repair, maintenance, and vehicle software updates.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturer-specific diagnostic and technical systems.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a technical team.
  • Ability to safely lift and handle items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work with dedicated hoist, laptop, Wi-Tech, and CDA Micro Pod equipment as required.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair vehicle concerns including BSR, NVH, dynamic, and other performance-related issues.
  • Replace and install vehicle components and parts as required for vehicle retrofits.
  • Perform vehicle and component software updates using approved manufacturer diagnostic and programming equipment.
  • Diagnose, repair, and replace worn or defective components, including brake pads, wheel bearings, sensors, and related vehicle systems.
  • Perform routine vehicle maintenance, including oil changes, fluid-level checks, tire rotations, and other basic vehicle care.
  • Complete all repairs in accordance with established quality standards.
  • Accurately document vehicle concerns, diagnostic findings, repairs, and completed work in the MPK system.
  • Utilize manufacturer technical and diagnostic systems, including MPK, Dealer Connect, JTETSO, HPIMS, Wi-Tech, CDA Micro Pods, and other applicable mainframe systems.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, auditors, technicians, and other team members regarding vehicle concerns, repair requirements, and work status.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following all applicable safety procedures.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Automotive Technician responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining vehicle specifications. The technician will address vehicle concerns identified by auditors, perform vehicle retrofits and software updates, replace worn or defective components, and complete routine maintenance and repairs.
