Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of an accredited automotive technology program preferred.
- Minimum of 2-3 years experience as an automotive technician or mechanic in a dealership or independent shop.
- Ase certifications or manufacturer-specific training strongly preferred.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record required.
- Proven experience with diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on a variety of vehicle systems.
- Familiarity with dealership service software and diagnostic tools is a plus.
- European automotive experience preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Perform accurate diagnostics and complex mechanical, electrical, and drivability repairs.
- Conduct thorough inspections to identify maintenance needs and potential safety issues.
- Complete repairs and services per manufacturer specifications and dealership standards.
- Communicate effectively with service advisors to clearly explain diagnoses, recommend necessary repairs, and accurately estimate completion times.
- Document all work performed using the dealership's repair order system.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Stay current with the latest automotive technologies and participate in training and certification programs.
- Utilize manufacturer-provided diagnostic tools and equipment with proficiency.
- Assist in mentoring and supporting less experienced technicians as needed.
- Test drive vehicles to confirm proper operation and quality repairs.
