Job description

Position Summary

A Technician is responsible for diagnosing drivability and electrical systems using their experience and technical expertise. They will lead and mentor a team to enhance customer care and satisfaction. The Technician interacts directly with customers, educating them on vehicle problems and proposed solutions.

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Diagnose and repair specifications including brake, hydraulic, exhaust, fuel ignition, electrical, suspension, alignment, air conditioning, and computer systems.
2. Perform duties of all lower job descriptions (Technician B, Mechanic, General Service Technician).
3. Explain technical diagnoses and repairs to customers and staff as needed.
4. Continuously update technical knowledge through training.
5. Assist fellow technicians in technical activities.
6. Report mechanical issues to management promptly.
7. Maintain an organized and clean shop environment.
8. Follow all safety, environmental, and company policies.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

This role requires leadership in the shop, setting the pace and developing the team. Collaboration and a team-first mentality are essential. Candidates should meet the following criteria:

• High School Diploma or GED
• At least 3 years of automotive diagnosis and repair experience
• 4+ ASE certifications preferred (A4, A5, plus two from A1, A6, A7, A8, L1)
• Section 609 certification
• State Inspection license if applicable
• Motivated, energetic, customer-focused
• Valid driver's license
• Successful pre-employment background check
• Availability for various shifts including nights, weekends, holidays

Physical Demands/Work Environment
