Job Description:

UPS is currently seeking a reliable Automotive Technician to join our fleet maintenance team. The technician will maintain a diverse range of equipment including delivery vehicles, heavy-duty on-road tractors, and trailers from various manufacturers. Powered vehicle propulsion includes diesel, gasoline, and alternative technologies such as compressed natural gas, liquefied natural gas, propane, hybrid, and electrical systems in some locations.

Automotive Technicians must be skilled in troubleshooting and maintaining systems including hydraulic brakes, air brakes, electrical, and engine control. If you're interested in a career in the automotive industry, we want to hear from you!

Technicians must be willing to work 2nd or 3rd shifts, including various schedules such as Monday through Friday, Sunday through Thursday, or Tuesday through Saturday, depending on location needs. Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Meet D.O.T requirements as per job assignment.
2. Perform physical activities such as bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing, standing, walking, and pivoting throughout the workday.
3. Sit infrequently, as required.
4. Use hand tools, power tools, and pneumatic tools to complete tasks.
5. Operate standard and manual transmissions.
6. Obtain Power Industrial Truck Operations (PITO) certification.

Knowledge and Skills:

1. Minimum 3 years of documented automotive mechanical experience (required).
2. Experience with diagnostic equipment, scan tools, and computers.
3. Possession of a full set of personal hand tools.
4. Class A CDL preferred.
5. Availability for full-time shifts, typically 8-10 hours per day, 4-5 days per week.
6. Dependability and punctuality.
7. Willingness to work varying shifts, overtime, and additional hours as needed.
8. Ability to wear PPE and work in various environmental conditions.
9. Effective communication skills to ensure safety and task completion.

Other Criteria:

Visa sponsorship is not available. Candidates must be located in or willing to relocate to the Winchester, VA area.
