Responsibilities

• Diagnose vehicle systems using scanners/specialty tools, vehicle test drives, and automotive expertise
• Diagnose & repair all categories: heating/cooling, electrical, engine, transmission, brakes, steering, suspension, etc.
• Complete all repairs as outlined on Repair Order independently while maintaining accurate records of work completed
• Complete detailed preventative maintenance reports using digital visual inspections
• Maintain communication with the service department to keep customers informed, especially regarding costs and timelines for additional services & repairs
• Interface with customers to explain technical concepts in an understandable manner
• Uphold high standards for safety, cleanliness, and organization
• Adhere to federal, state, and local regulations governing service operations, including protocols for hazardous waste disposal and OSHA standards.

Qualifications

• 8-10+ years of experience working as an automotive mechanic or technician
• 2+ years of experience in advanced automotive diagnostics
• Valid driver’s license & clean driving record
• ASE Certifications preferred but not required
• Necessary set of tools to perform repairs & maintenance
• Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment to meet or exceed hourly goals

Physical Requirements

• Occasionally lift and/or move over 50 pounds
• Work with tools on vehicles lifted above head level
• Work in tight spaces as needed for repairs
• Dexterity to efficiently use hand-tools
• Walk/stand for most of the workday
• Drive manual transmission vehicles
• Maintain a brisk work pace in a high-volume environment
• Navigate a computer efficiently
