Role Overview: We are hiring an Alliances Field Engineer to support our major partners (e.g., Intel, Nvidia, Google, Dell, HP, Accenture, Tata). Your role will involve helping partners understand and adopt our open source platform, supporting various alliances, and enabling enterprise adoption of Ubuntu, OpenStack, Kubernetes, AI/MLOps, and related technologies.

Location: This is a home-based role, open worldwide.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Understand Ubuntu, Linux, networking, and services in real-world environments.
2. Architect cloud solutions like Kubernetes, OpenStack, Ceph, Spark in On-Premises or Public Cloud environments.
3. Integrate open source software such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Kafka, Cassandra, NGINX.
4. Support partners in offering and architecting joint solutions using Canonical's technologies.
5. Design and publish reference architectures and perform technical validations.
6. Conduct onboarding sessions and workshops to promote Canonical products.

Qualifications:

• Extensive experience with Linux (Ubuntu preferred), Kubernetes, Ceph, automation.
• Experience designing solutions on public/private clouds.
• Proficiency in Python and Bash, troubleshooting skills.
• Fluent English communication skills, both written and spoken.
• Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills.
• Motivated, reliable, with the ability to multi-task.
• Interest in customer engagement, pitching, and understanding client needs.
• Interest in technologies like LXD, Juju, Snaps.
• Willingness to travel up to 30% globally.
• Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or related field.
