Job summary

Genesis of Smithtown is seeking an Automotive Technician to diagnose and repair Subaru vehicles, perform routine maintenance, and deliver high-quality customer care.

You will use advanced diagnostic tools, stay current with technical procedures, participate in ongoing training, and communicate clearly with customers and advisors about repairs and timelines.

Qualifications

• B and C level technician experience, preferably with Genesis and/or Hyundai brands.
• Strong teamwork skills.
• Clean and valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electrical problems on Subaru vehicles, including engine, transmission, suspension, steering, and brake systems.
• Use specialized diagnostic equipment to identify issues and recommend repairs.
• Perform routine maintenance per Subaru guidelines (oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections).
• Stay updated on Subaru procedures and participate in training.
• Communicate clearly with customers and service advisors regarding repairs and costs.
• Maintain accurate service records and ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.
• Collaborate with the service team to meet customer needs efficiently.
• Support continuous improvement in service quality and customer satisfaction.
• Adhere to dealership policies and procedures.
• Possibility of sign-on bonuses depending on dealership policy and the candidate's experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electrical problems on Subaru vehicles, including engine, transmission, suspension, steering, and brake systems.

• Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections, according to Subaru guidelines and standards.
• Stay up-to-date on the latest technical information and procedures for Subaru vehicles, and participate in ongoing training and certification programs.
• Communicate effectively with customers and service advisors, providing clear explanations of repairs needed, estimated costs, and timelines for completion.
• Maintain accurate records of all work performed, including parts used, time spent, and customer interactions.
• Ensure that all work is performed to Subaru’s quality standards and specifications, and that all safety and environmental regulations are followed.
• Collaborate with other members of the service team to ensure that customer needs are met and that work is completed efficiently and effectively.
• Participate in continuous improvement activities to enhance service quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

• Looking for B and C level technician experience, preferably with Genesis and/or Hyundai brands
