Job summary

Genesis of Smithtown is seeking an Automotive Technician to diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electrical problems, including engine, transmission, and brake systems, using specialized diagnostic tools. You will perform routine maintenance and communicate repairs, costs, and timelines to customers.

You will stay current with Subaru-specific information and participate in ongoing training, while maintaining accurate service records and upholding safety and dealership standards.

Qualifications

• Experience with Genesis and Hyundai brands preferred.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Must have a clean, valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electrical problems on Subaru vehicles (engine, transmission, suspension, steering, brakes).
• Use diagnostic equipment to identify issues and recommend repairs or replacements.
• Perform routine maintenance: oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections per Subaru guidelines.
• Stay current on Subaru technical information and participate in ongoing training and certification.
• Communicate clearly with customers and service advisors about repairs, costs, and timelines.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed and ensure safety and environmental standards.
• Possibility of sign-on bonuses depending on policy and experience.
