Job summary

AutoNation in Hayward, CA is seeking a Base Technician with general mechanical knowledge to service vehicles and follow dealership standards. You will stay current with diagnostic methods and service techniques, perform work efficiently, and communicate with the service team to confirm repairs and status.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• General mechanical skills and ability to read instructions.
• Valid driver's license and ability to drive manual transmission vehicles.
• ASE certification or successful pre-employment test preferred.

Responsibilities

• Stay current in the latest diagnostic methods and service techniques.
• Perform work as outlined on repair orders with accuracy and efficiency.
• Follow factory and dealership repair procedures for warranty work.
• Participate in in-dealership service training activities.
• Record cause of failure and work description clearly on repair orders.
• Communicate with service manager and team to confirm diagnosis and status.
• Request parts as needed and observe safety procedures.
