Job summary

Ed Napleton Automotive Group is seeking an Automotive Service Technician at our Elmhurst Acura/KIA location. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain vehicles to dealer and factory standards, building trust and loyalty with customers through clear communication.

We offer top wages ranging from $22.00 to $46.75 per hour based on experience, with paid training, certifications, and opportunities for career advancement within a large national group.

Qualifications

• Automotive service experience required.
• ASE certification desirable but not required.
• Excellent customer service essential.
• Strong communication skills essential for customer and team communication.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Willingness to undergo background check as per policy.
• Applicants must be 18 years or older.

Responsibilities

• Perform vehicle repair and maintenance as per repair order and manufacturer standards.
• Coordinate with Parts and Service Advisors to manage production and communication.
• Diagnose causes of malfunctions and perform repairs.
• Explain diagnoses and repairs to customers and staff in plain language.
• Stay updated with factory bulletins and training.

Job Responsibilities:

• Performing vehicle repair and/or maintenance work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards to drive Customer loyalty.
• Communicating with Parts Department and Service Advisors regularly to effectively manage production and Customer communication.
• Diagnosing the cause of any malfunction and perform repair.
• Adequately explains technical diagnoses and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals which may include employees and customers
• Keeping abreast of factory technical bulletins and participating in factory-sponsored training classes as appropriate
• Keeps store management aware of mechanical repair problems as they occur
• Maintains an organized work area

Job Requirements:

• Automotive Service Technician experience
• ASE certification desirable
• Excellent customer service
• Strong communication skills
• Valid Driver’s License
• Willingness to undergo a background check in accordance with local law/regulations
• 18+ years of age or older to comply with the company driving policy
