Job summary

CarShop Cranberry Twp is seeking an Automotive Technician to join a busy, high-performing shop in Cranberry Township. You’ll diagnose, repair, and service a wide range of domestic and import vehicles, with flat-rate opportunities and a focus on accuracy and efficiency.

Earn between $50,000 and $100,000+ annually, plus a $6,000 sign-on bonus and quarterly incentives. CarShop offers medical/dental/vision, vacation, 401(k) with match, and strong training and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• ASE certification preferred with 2-5 years of experience.
• State and Emissions License preferred.
• Ability to pass pre-employment testing and have a valid driver's license.
• Willingness to learn and stay up to date with automotive technology.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair vehicle systems to specification.
• Work on a wide variety of domestic and import vehicles.
• Perform work outlined on repair orders with efficiency and accuracy.
• Complete full automotive troubleshooting and testing.
• Explain repairs clearly to service advisors and customers.
• Provide labor and time estimates for additional repairs.
• Keep vehicles repaired accurately and shop organized.

What will you do?

• Diagnose and repair vehicle systems including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, braking, and air conditioning to specification
• Work on a wide variety of domestic and import vehicles, not just warranty repairs
• Perform work outlined on repair orders with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealer and manufacturer standards
• Complete full automotive troubleshooting and testing
• Propose creative, practical, and cost-effective solutions to problems and process improvements
• Explain mechanical diagnoses and required repairs in a clear, non-technical manner to service advisors and customers
• Provide labor and time estimates for additional repairs
• Ensure vehicles are repaired accurately and kept clean; road test vehicles to ensure quality repair the first time
• Maintain a clean and organized shop environment

What skills do you bring to the role?

• ASE certification preferred with 2-5 years of experience required
• State and Emissions License preferred
• Strong work ethic: reliable and dependable
• Proven track record of achieving or exceeding performance goals as an Automotive Technician/Mechanic
• Working knowledge of shop equipment including diagnostic tools, alignment systems, wheel and tire equipment, and A/C equipment
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Team-oriented, flexible, and focused on delivering a high level of customer service
• Take pride in producing quality work the first time
• Professional appearance and demeanor
• Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
• Willingness to learn and stay up to date with rapidly changing automotive technology
• Ability to pass pre-employment testing to include a background check, drug test, and Motor Vehicle Record; must have a valid driver's license.

The essential functions of this position require working with hazardous or flammable materials and completing tasks where a lapse in attention could result in injury, including operating, repairing, maintaining, or monitoring heavy equipment, machinery, or motor vehicles.
