Job summary

Dobbs Tire & Auto Center in Chicago, IL is seeking an experienced Automotive Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain vehicles. ASE certification or 5+ years of hands-on shop experience is required, with a Missouri State Inspector License or the ability to obtain one preferred.

A valid driver's license and strong diagnostic skills are essential. The role offers guaranteed hours with a flag-rate pay structure ranging from $20 to $45 per hour, plus full benefits and opportunities for career

Qualifications

• ASE certifications OR 5+ years of automotive technician experience in a professional shop.
• Missouri State Inspector License OR ability to obtain one.
• Valid driver's license.
• Strong diagnostic and mechanical repair skills.
• Experience with tire installation, wheel balancing, steering, suspension, and automotive maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, inspect, repair and maintain vehicles to ensure safe and reliable operation.
• Perform wheel alignments, tire services, brake repairs, vehicle inspections, steering and suspension work, oil changes, tune-ups, and general automotive maintenance.
• Perform Missouri state inspections or obtain certification to do so.
• Use diagnostic tools and shop equipment to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and engine repair issues.
• Maintain accurate service documentation for completed work.
• Work collaboratively with the team to keep the shop operating efficiently and safely.
• Provide professional customer service when explaining repair recommendations to customers.
