Job summary

Belle Tire in Michigan offers an entry-level Automotive Technician Trainee through its Auto Tech Development Program. You will be paired with a certified mentor, work on real customer vehicles, and progress toward a full Automotive Technician role within six months.

The program targets students or recent graduates in automotive technology, with hands-on shop experience, mentorship, and opportunities to earn ASE certifications while advancing in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• Current student or recent graduate (within 6 months) of an ASE-accredited automotive technology program.
• Completion of brakes and steering/suspension coursework preferred.
• State of Michigan Mechanic Trainee Permit (or ability to obtain within required timeframe).
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Must obtain required tools within designated timeframe (program support available).

Responsibilities

• Secure vehicles to lifts and alignment equipment for safe operation.
• Assist with diagnosing vehicle issues and perform necessary repairs.
• Support general automotive service tasks including brakes, suspension, and basic maintenance.
• Learn and apply repair techniques across multiple vehicle systems.
• Communicate effectively with team members and explain repairs when needed.
• Deliver high-quality workmanship to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Stay current with evolving automotive technology, tools, and repair processes.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Complete required training milestones and program competencies.
• Perform other duties as assigned by store leadership.
