Job summary

Tidewater Tech in Norfolk, VA seeks an automotive instructor to deliver classroom and lab instruction, maintain a safe and productive learning environment, monitor attendance and progress, and support curriculum development.

This full-time/part-time role offers a schedule of Monday–Thursday with Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays off, and compensation up to $31/hour, plus benefits such as 401(k) with matching, health coverage, life insurance, PTO, and tuition reimbursement.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum three (3) years of practical automotive industry experience.
• ASE Certification equal to the level of classes taught (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Deliver automotive technology instruction in classroom and lab settings.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and productive learning environment.
• Monitor student attendance, academic progress, and performance; maintain accurate records and submit required reports.
• Support curriculum development, course preparation, equipment maintenance, and student retention initiatives.
• Communicate student concerns, attendance issues, and other matters requiring attention to the Program Coordinator.
• Participate in required training, professional development, and instructor development activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned by school leadership.
