Job summary

SONS Automotive Group in Columbus, GA is seeking a Service Technician for our service department. Prior service tech experience is preferred, but novice technicians are encouraged to apply as we provide training and support.

You will diagnose and repair vehicle systems, test components, and communicate with the Service Advisor regarding estimates and timing. ASE certifications are preferred, and a clean driver's license is required.

Qualifications

• ASE certifications preferred.
• Novice techs encouraged to apply - we will train you!
• Strong automotive background required.
• Strong teamwork skills needed.
• Willing to submit to a drug screen and background check.
• Must have clean & valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership standards.
• Test-drive vehicles and diagnose components and systems using diagnostic tools.
• Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes, and A/C.
• Communicate with the Service Advisor regarding necessary additional services and time estimates.
• Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications.

Responsibilities:

• Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership
• Test-drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment
• Diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
• Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers can be informed if any additional service is needed. Providing an estimate of time needed for additional repairs
• Executing repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications
