Job summary

SONS Automotive Group is seeking a Service Technician in our service department. The position welcomes novice technicians and offers guaranteed paid training, with a focus on diagnosing and repairing vehicles to dealership standards.

You will test-drive, diagnose, and repair automotive systems such as engine, transmission, electrical, brakes and A/C, while coordinating with the Service Advisor on repairs and time estimates. ASE certifications are preferred and a clean driving record is required.

Qualifications

• ASE certifications preferred.
• Novice techs encouraged to apply - we will train you!
• Strong automotive background and ability to work in a team.
• Willing to submit to a drug screen and background check.
• Must have clean and valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Perform repair orders efficiently according to dealership standards.
• Test-drive vehicles and diagnose components using diagnostic tools.
• Repair and maintain vehicle systems including engine, transmission, electrical, brakes, and A/C.
• Communicate with the Service Advisor about additional needed services and time estimates.
• Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications.

Responsibilities:

• Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership
• Test-drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment
• Diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
• Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers can be informed if any additional service is needed. Providing an estimate of time needed for additional repairs
• Executing repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications
