Roland Berger in Chicago, Detroit, or Boston is seeking Consultants to join our Automotive Practice. You will work with leading automakers, automotive suppliers, mobility players, and technology companies as they navigate the most disruptive period in the industry’s history.

Qualifications

• PhD/MA/MS in relevant fields preferred but not required.
• 1–2 years of relevant professional experience, ideally in consulting, automotive, mobility, technology, energy, analytics, or another quantitatively oriented environment; strong analytical ability, curiosity, and the capacity to learn quickly are valued.
• Understanding of various industry business models and key dynamics.
• Understanding of Consulting or Service environment.
• Strong analytical skills, both qualitative and quantitative analysis methods and techniques.
• Ability to think independently and take initiative in the face of ambiguity.

Responsibilities

• Analyze market, financial, operational and client data to identify insights.
• Structure complex problems into clear workstreams, hypotheses, and analyses.
• Build financial models, business cases, and quantitative analyses.
• Apply sound judgement in synthesizing research, interviews, market data and client information into findings.
• Prepare client presentations that communicate insights, implications and recommendations.
• Support and participate in client meetings, interviews and workshops.
• Develop realistic work plans with clear deliverables, timelines and ownership.
• Build knowledge of automotive industry trends, business models, and competitive dynamics.
• Work effectively with project teams, clients, and colleagues across geographies.
• Contribute to internal initiatives such as business development, recruiting, training, and knowledge development.
• Take an active role in your own development by seeking feedback and applying coaching.
