Genuine Parts Company is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to lead daily store operations, sales execution, inventory and staff coordination. You will balance direct customer-facing sales with coaching of team members to maintain high standards and ensure continuity in a fast-paced environment.

This role serves as a developmental path toward Store Manager, with potential overtime and keyholder responsibilities for opening and closing the store as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school courses or degree completion.
• Experience in the automotive after-market service industry or willingness to learn all things automotive.
• Leadership experience in a retail or service environment.
• Passion for delivering customer care and building relationships.
• Thrives in a fast-paced and complex environment.
• Knowledge of cataloging and/or inventory management systems.
• Ability to lift 60 lbs.
• Background in automotive industry, heavy equipment, farm, diesel, marine, or dealership.
• Experience in a parts store, retail store, or related management role.
• ASE Certifications a plus
• NAPA Know How

Responsibilities

• Partner daily with Store Manager on operations, sales execution, inventory health, labor/scheduling alignment, and team performance.
• Actively sell and build customer relationships across retail and wholesale channels.
• Model expected behaviors, processes, and customer standards.
• Execute or oversee opening and closing routines, security, cash reconciliation and end-of-day reporting.
• Handle or support administrative tasks: scheduling input, compliance documentation, performance tracking, and basic P&L awareness items.
• Monitor core store metrics and identify trends to drive solutions.
• Provide leadership, training and performance management for store functions.
• Support talent development and coaching for advancement.
• Drive safety, asset protection and continuous improvement initiatives.
