This position involves assisting in automotive maintenance, inspection, and repair work. Responsibilities include operating motor vehicles, performing preventive maintenance, cleaning vehicles, assisting in repairs, and maintaining records.

Typical tasks include:

• Performing automotive maintenance such as inspections, oil changes, and tire services.
• Cleaning and polishing vehicles, both interior and exterior.
• Dispensing gasoline and checking vehicle fluids.
• Assisting in repairs, including engine and system replacements.
• Operating motor vehicles for testing and transport.
• Maintaining vehicle inventories and records.

Minimum Qualifications for Level I:

• Two years of full-time automotive maintenance experience, or
• Graduation from trade/vocational/technical school in automotive repair, or
• Associate Degree in automotive technology, or
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.

License Requirements: Valid NY State Motor Vehicle Driver License required. Certain positions may require Class A or B Commercial Driver Licenses with endorsements. Candidates can qualify with a Learner's Permit and must obtain the license within 180 days.

For Level II: Additional experience or education requirements apply, including one year of service as a Level I or additional automotive experience.
