Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a General Service Technician to perform basic automotive services such as tire mounting/balancing, oil changes, tire repairs, and inspections while delivering an exceptional customer experience. The role requires a valid driver’s license, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to work days, nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities include learning diagnostics, staying current with tech updates through training, maintaining a safe and clean shop, and assisting

Qualifications

• A valid driver's license.
• Passion for a career as an automotive technician.
• Eager to learn and competitive to succeed.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Availability to work days, nights, holidays, and weekends as needed.
• Successful completion of pre-employment background check.

Responsibilities

• Learn to diagnose and repair basic automotive systems including brakes, alignments, suspensions, cooling and electrical.
• Attend formal training to stay current with automotive technology.
• Change engine oil and filter.
• Install and perform tire maintenance.
• Install batteries and check starting/charging systems.
• Install headlights and other bulbs.
• Repair flat tires.
• Install wiper blades.
• Stock and unload tires.
• Assist fellow technicians in technical activities.
• Inform management of repair problems as they occur.
• Keep the shop organized and clean.
• Adhere to company policy, safety, and environmental rules.
