Job summary

Bill Talley Ford, Inc. is seeking an experienced Automotive Technician for a full-service shop in Richmond, VA. The position offers a competitive hourly rate, a $4,500 sign-on bonus, and a schedule that includes limited Saturdays and no Sundays.

Qualified candidates will diagnose and repair a wide range of systems, use diagnostic tools, and work within a team to deliver quality repairs. Benefit options include health coverage, 401(k) with company match, and employee discounts.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of automotive technician experience.
• Strong knowledge of automotive repair and maintenance.
• Ability to diagnose and repair various systems.
• Ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Virginia State Inspection license is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform quality maintenance and repairs per repair orders and manufacturer specifications.
• Diagnose vehicle concerns using diagnostic tools and electronic test equipment.
• Diagnose, maintain, and repair automotive systems including mechanical, electrical, steering, suspension, brake, and drivability concerns.
• Test-drive vehicles and test components as needed.
• Communicate findings with Service Advisors regarding diagnostic findings and any additional recommended repairs.
• Provide accurate estimates of the time needed to complete repairs.
• Perform warranty repairs according to manufacturer specifications.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Work as part of a team committed to quality repairs and excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

Requirements

• Automotive technician experience required; 2+ years preferred
• Strong knowledge of automotive repair and maintenance
• Ability to diagnose and repair a variety of automotive systems
• Ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment
• Strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Basic computer skills and willingness to learn new technology and diagnostic systems
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
• Virginia State Inspection license is a plus, but not required. Candidates with strong automotive experience who are interested in obtaining their Virginia State Inspection certification are encouraged to apply.
