Bill Talley Ford in Richmond, VA is seeking an experienced Automotive Technician for our full-service shop. This role offers a wide range of maintenance, diagnostic, and repair work at a busy, established shop with a strong team.

Qualifications

• Must have automotive technician experience; 2+ years preferred.
• Strong knowledge of automotive repair and maintenance.
• Ability to diagnose and repair a variety of automotive systems.
• Ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment.
• Strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Basic computer skills and willingness to learn new technology and diagnostic systems.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• Virginia State Inspection license is a plus, but not required. Candidates encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Perform quality maintenance and repairs according to repair orders and manufacturer specifications.
• Diagnose vehicle concerns using diagnostic tools and electronic test equipment.
• Diagnose, maintain, and repair automotive systems, including mechanical, electrical, steering, suspension, brake, and drivability concerns.
• Test-drive vehicles and test components and systems as needed.
• Communicate clearly with Service Advisors regarding diagnostic findings and any additional recommended repairs.
• Provide accurate estimates of the time needed to complete additional repairs.
• Perform warranty repairs according to manufacturer specifications.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Work as part of a team committed to quality repairs and excellent customer service.
