Job summary

Sunroad Enterprises’ Toyota of Chula Vista is seeking an entry-level Service Technician I. This role supports experienced technicians, provides on-the-job training, and helps develop skills in diagnostics and routine maintenance within a busy automotive service department.

You will learn to use diagnostic tools, perform oil changes, tire rotations, and inspections, and document work while adhering to safety and Cal/OSHA standards.

Qualifications

• 2 years’ experience as an entry-level automotive technician.
• Valid Driver’s license and safe driving record; CA license required if out-of-state.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Willingness to participate in ongoing training and professional development.
• Ability to perform all essential functions of the job description.

Responsibilities

• Assist experienced service technician II with routine maintenance and repair tasks; observe and learn diagnostics and system servicing.
• Perform basic repair tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, brake servicing, and fluid checks.
• Use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify vehicle issues and assist in troubleshooting.
• Drive vehicles to assess performance after modifications or adjustments.
• Document work performed, including parts used and labor hours, with accurate records.
