Job summary

Mercedes-Benz of Walnut Creek is seeking a skilled Automotive Technician to join our service team. This role diagnoses, repairs, and maintains a wide range of vehicles to manufacturer and dealership standards, with emphasis on quality workmanship and customer satisfaction.

The ideal candidate has 2–5 years of technician experience, ASE or manufacturer certifications preferred, and the ability to work at flat-rate productivity.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2-5 years of automotive technician experience, preferably in a franchised dealership environment.
• Strong diagnostic, repair, and maintenance skills across a variety of vehicle systems, including electrical, engine, drivetrain, suspension, and brake systems.
• ASE certifications and/or manufacturer-specific certifications are preferred; willingness to pursue additional training and certifications required.
• Ability to efficiently perform repairs while consistently meeting flat-rate productivity and quality standards.
• Proficiency using diagnostic equipment, repair software, and dealership service systems.
• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to delivering quality workmanship and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on a wide range of vehicles
• Accurately diagnose mechanical, electrical, and performance issues
• Complete repair orders clearly and efficiently, documenting all work performed
• Perform warranty repairs in accordance with manufacturer guidelines
• Maintain productivity and efficiency goals set by the service department
• Use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify problems
• Communicate with service advisors regarding recommended repairs and timelines
• Keep work area clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards
• Stay up to date with manufacturer training and certifications
