Job summary

Momentum Volkswagen’s service team, part of Sonic Automotive, is hiring an Automotive Service Technician in Houston. You will perform vehicle repairs and maintenance to dealer and factory standards, with opportunities for growth within a Fortune 500 company.

You’ll inspect vehicles, perform engine, brake, electrical, and HVAC work, and work with the parts department. Competitive flat-rate pay $25-$45/hour plus relocation up to $5,000, Sundays off, and benefits.

Qualifications

Minimum 2+ years of experience as an Automotive Service Technician.
High school diploma or the equivalent.
Valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
Authorized to work in the USA and able to pass pre-employment testing (background checks, MVR, drug test).
Preferred: German brand experience.

Responsibilities

Perform a thorough inspection of vehicles to identify mechanical, electrical, or diagnostic issues.
Carry out repairs which may include engine, transmission, brake, suspension, electrical and HVAC work.
Take vehicles on test drives to evaluate repairs and ensure proper function after work.
Replace or repair components such as spark plugs, filters, brakes, rotors, belts and hoses.
Conduct routine maintenance tasks like oil changes, tire rotations, fluid checks and alignment adjustments.
Communicate with the service advisor and parts department to coordinate work and obtain parts.
