Job summary

Koons Tysons CDJR is seeking an Automotive Service Technician to repair vehicles, document work, and communicate with service advisors. The role involves diagnosing and performing repairs, maintaining technician proficiency, and attending manufacturer trainings.

Qualifications

• Previous automotive technician experience required.
• ASE certifications heavily preferred.
• Manufacturer certifications heavily preferred.
• Must have basic tools.
• Must have great technical and mechanical skills.
• Must be a team player and able to work on complex tasks.
• Must be a minimum of eighteen years of age.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Must be able to pass pre-employment screening (background & drug test).

Responsibilities

• Make accurate use of the multi-point inspection form on each vehicle.
• Document all work performed and recommended on assigned repair order.
• Communicate with service advisor when additional work is needed or repairs cannot be completed within the promised time.
• Maintain technician proficiency as specified by Asbury standards.
• Conduct road tests to determine work needed and confirm completion when necessary.
• Perform all levels of diagnosis and repair on vehicles.
• Perform all levels of preventive/routine maintenance services.
• Utilize product and technical training as assigned by manufacturer and management.
• Participate in manufacturer-sponsored training programs to stay current with new technology.
• Maintain CSI at or above specified goals in service for district, regional and national scores.
• Complete warranty repair orders and warranty claims paperwork.
• Report safety or integrity concerns to management.
• Ensure customer vehicles are returned as clean as when serviced.
