Minimum qualifications we are looking for in an Automotive Service Technician:
- 3 years Previous automotive mechanical experience
- ASE Certification is
The Service Technician functions as a skilled-level technician who is able to perform diagnoses and repairs in all areas, in addition to being specialized in particular areas of repair.
Essential Functions:
- Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
- Diagnoses cause of any malfunction and performs repair.
- Communicates with parts department to obtain needed parts.
- Examines assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended.
- Communicates with service advisor immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time.
- Documents all work performed and recommended on the repair order.
- Road tests vehicles when required or refers to the test technician.
- Participates in manufacturer-sponsored training programs, schools, and events.
- Keeps abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins.
- Supervises work of any apprentice technicians as assigned.
- Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor.
- Ensures that customers' cars are kept clean, notifying Service Advisor immediately of anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition of the vehicle.
- Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc.
- Monitors Technician certification status within the Team as required.
- May perform other duties as requested.
Required Education & Experience:
- High School Diploma or general education degree (GED); or two to three years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education or experience.
- Need to earn the certification relevant to Manufacturer on a yearly basis.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle preventive maintenance.
- Basic knowledge of internet software and order processing system.
- Must have a valid driver license with an acceptable driving record which shall be reviewed by Human Resources as needed.
- Previous customer service experience .
- ASE / T-Ten / Factory / Brand Certifications .
- Automotive repair experience.
- Dealership experience .

- Must be friendly and maintain a positive and professional attitude.
- Ability to multitask and deal with a fast evolving environment.

- Fast learner due to constant technology evolution.
- Intermediate capabilities such as the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Basic math capabilities such as the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
- Intermediate reasoning capabilities such as the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form, and deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
