Job summary

Tom Wood Automotive is seeking experienced automotive technicians to join our high-performing team in Indianapolis. We offer tools, training, and clear career growth opportunities to help you succeed in a fast-paced, customer-focused shop.

You’ll diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues, document outcomes, and ensure safe, efficient vehicle service. ASE certifications or OEM training are preferred but not required, and a clean driving record is essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in automotive repair and maintenance.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Familiarity with shop equipment including alignment systems, tire machines, diagnostic tools and A/C service equipment.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive vehicle inspections to identify potential issues early.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical problems with accuracy.
• Maintain detailed and accurate service documentation.
• Ensure a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
• Communicate effectively with service advisors and customers regarding repair needs and recommendations.
• Stay current with evolving automotive technologies, tools, and repair techniques.
• Deliver high-quality workmanship that meets or exceeds manufacturer standards.
