Job summary

Jay Hatfield Auto Group is seeking an experienced Service Technician to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in vehicle service and diagnostics, and the ability to perform repairs on repair orders with efficiency.

Responsibilities include test-driving vehicles, diagnosing systems, and completing repairs to manufacturer specifications. Must have own tools and a valid driver's license, with opportunities for advancement and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Automotive certification(s) are a plus.
• Extensive hands-on automotive repair experience.
• Must bring own tools and equipment.
• Clean driving record required and valid license.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs on service orders with efficiency and accuracy.
• Test-drive vehicles and diagnose components and systems.
• Repair engine, transmission, electrical, steering, brakes, and A/C systems.
• Communicate with Service Advisor regarding estimates and approvals.
• Complete repairs to manufacturer specifications and quality standards.
• Pursue additional certifications as needed and stay current with training.
• Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work area.
• Present a professional appearance at all times.

Responsibilities

• Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership
• Test-drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment
• Diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
• Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers can be informed if any additional service is needed. Providing an estimate of time needed for additional repairs
• Executing repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications
• Prepare to get additional certification as needed.
• Willingness to learn with hands-on training.
• Help keep repair shop clean and organized.
• Keep a professional appearance

Qualifications

• Specific Automotive Certifications are ideal
• Strong automotive background
• Must have own tools
• Strong work history
• Heavy line mechanic with knowledge of engines and transmissions
• Must have valid driver's license
• Willing to submit to a drug screen (THC is not tested for pre-employment)
