Job Description

The Automotive Service Manager, reporting to the Store Manager, will set high standards of excellence and embody our core values to support operations in the service department. Responsibilities include creating a motivated team environment, working closely with the Service Team to improve performance through hands-on coaching, and executing store processes and procedures.

Primary Responsibilities

• Support the store recruiting process and assist the Store Manager in final employment decisions.
• Supervise technicians and service personnel, plan and schedule duties, assign work, and follow up on completion.
• Coach team members on operational issues, system processes, and service standards.
• Work directly with customers on sales, service opportunities, and adjustments.
• Evaluate performance and productivity of service department staff.
• Manage parts inventory and outside purchases, ensuring compliance and restocking as needed.
• Ensure store safety, proper equipment layout, and safety procedures compliance.
• Supervise shop area, equipment, and team adherence to safety protocols.
• Coach personnel on wheel torqueing and conduct proper inspections.

Qualifications

• Outstanding leadership and store management skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, with mentoring abilities.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Service Manager.
• Proven track record of exceeding business objectives.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Knowledge of OSHA laws and MSDS compliance.

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged standing, stooping, and bending.
• Occasional exertion of 50-100 lbs of force, frequent 10-25 lbs, and constant over 10 lbs.
