Job summary

Theisen's Home Farm Auto in the Cedar Rapids area is seeking a Senior Automotive Associate to assist customers, perform tire and battery installations, oil changes, and general repairs, and keep the auto department organized for smooth daily operations.

The role requires 3–12 months of automotive maintenance experience, a valid driver’s license, and NRHA test completion, with candidates 18+ able to work nights and weekends. Join a team focused on quality service and safety.

Qualifications

• 3–12 months of automotive maintenance experience.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Must be 18+ years old due to OSHA requirements.
• Satisfactory completion of NRHA test.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with questions, where to find merchandise, and advise on proper items based on needs.
• Assist auto department staff in handling difficult customer issues.
• Maintain knowledge of all auto products; general knowledge of other departments.
• Install and check tires and batteries; perform oil changes and lubrication.
• Complete warranty information; process returns and exchanges as needed.
• Notify senior mechanic or manager before complex repairs or installations.
• Use proper tools and safety equipment for tires & battery work.
• Operate hoist, tire machines, air wrenches, torque wrench, and spin balancer.
• Keep shop clean and organized; stock merchandise and assist in displays.
